Double Fine, the company behind Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, was approached by Sony. According to PlayStation Official Magazine UK’s encounter with Double Fine’s founder, Tim Schafer, at PAX East, he was surprised that Sony approached them, “because we’re not Bungie… or Insomniac”. Schafer mentions that his team was asked on what they could do with the new PlayStation 4 and that Double Fine has “already got some guys playing with some of the new features to see […]

Ubisoft has posted a brief video which takes a look at comic book artist Todd McFarlane and the way he goes about designing the poster art for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. McFarlane explains that his inspiration for the poster came from an image of Michael Jordan, who stood with both arms stretched out to his sides, that he saw as a child. McFarlane incorporates this into the pirate-themed poster as he shows Edward Kenway, the assassin we […]

Hey, look it’s Ezio’s father! Oh, wait. Why are his assassin robes dyed black? Wait, what?! Okay, that’s Romano Orzari and he will be replacing Stephen Russell as the voice of master thief Garrett in the upcoming reboot of Thief, only this time he dons the main hood as the star of the game, instead of playing dear Giovanni Auditore da Firenze of Assassin’s Creed 2 and of course starring in short live-action tie-in Assassin’s Creed: Lineage. He was pretty […]

Will we see Battlefield 4 at future tournaments and competitive gaming leagues? There seems to be a hint of it as an interview with DICE general manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson, mentions Electronic Arts is ‘very interested’ in eSports in relation to Battlefield 4 when the game was announced at GDC 2013 last week. During the interview, Troedsson glossed over several aspects about Battlefield 4, including its multiplayer component as he called it “a very competitive part of the game […]

First spotted by AGB, the post on Xbox.com stated that Battlefield 4 “will arrive on the Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013”. The 17-minute gameplay footage that was released last week claimed that the sequel would be available in fall 2013.
An EA rep responded to CVG earlier today, saying, “We have not announced a ship date for Battlefield 4. Stay tuned to Battlefield.com for the official release date when it is announced.”
If this rumor is true, gamers […]

During the Game Developers Conference, Electronic Arts revealed its popular first-person shooter, Battlefield 4. This new trailer features pretty much everything you’d expect from a military FPS game – explosions, falling buildings, running soldiers, near-death moments, and, oh… explosions! The graphics look breathtakingly beautiful as usual, thanks to the new game engine Frostbite 3. As for the faces, the engine blurs the lines between reality and simple facial animation.
Battlefield 4 is said to be more ‘open-world’ with players having the […]

Assassin vs. sharks, first trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

No, really, did Edward Kenway just fight off Jaws? In this first look of the fourth Assassin’s Creed installment, there’s plenty of swashbuckling action on the Caribbean islands and swimming, too, it seems deep down in the sea where stingrays lurk. Of course, just like every other Assassin’s Creed trailer, the video cuts away seconds after Edward leaps down onto his target, before he performs an aerial assassination. There’s lots of naval warfare on the high seas to keep your […]

New Watch Dogs video observes protagonist Aiden Pearce

Ubisoft has uploaded a video – a surveillance video, to be precise – of Aiden Pearce on the city streets, looking highly suspicious with his brown cap and poor taste of clothing. It’s pretty much the same thing we have watched in previous trailer except this time it has a female voiceover. Also, the game seems to recycle plenty of sound effects from TV show Person of Interest. Don’t they know if they keep posting the same old video in […]

Announced earlier this month as a reboot of the series, Thief is set to be released in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 4 and other next-generation consoles (2013 Xbox perhaps?). The folks at Eidos Montreal have written a blog post where they spoke with Nicolas Cantin, Game Director of Thief, about the direction of the game.
Cantin mentions that they’re designing Garrett, the main character in the Thief reboot, so that he isn’t too gothic-looking (black nails […]

First Battlefield 4 promo art surfaces, reveal set for March 26

Electronic Arts proves its still loves the shades of dark blue and orange by reusing those colors for the next Battlefield game, also known as Battlefield 4 which is the sequel of Battlefield 3 and continuation of Henry Blackburn’s story. Unless Blackburn aged backwards or got a facelift or something, the US soldier on the first promo art is probably just another good-looking model EA uses for promotional purposes with all that Hollywood-perfect hair slicked back, despite the heavy rain, […]
