Real Racing 3, announced in September during Apple’s iPhone 5 announcement event, is a mobile racing game slated for iOS this month. This third iteration of Real Racing will sport much better graphics (taking advantage the widescreen and more horsepower that the iPhone 5 has to offer, but it will likely also run on older phones with iOS 6) and several new features. One of them is called ‘time shifted multiplayer’ which enables players to play against their friends from […]

SimCity is coming up in less than a month, arriving as early as March 5th depending on where you live. The game will contain a sandbox mode, apparently a highly requested feature according to Guillaume Pierre, lead gameplay scripter behind SimCity. SimCity’s Sandbox mode starts you off with a truck-load of Simoleons (the game’s in-game currency) and the ability to ‘disable’ disaster events. Of course, this also means that players will be excluded from leaderboards, global market participation and cannot […]
Hot on the heels of the Left4Dead 2 Workshop launched 3 weeks ago, Valve has brought out another games workshop. This time, it’s for their most recent competitive first-person-shooter game, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Just like what Workshop did for Left4Dead 2, the new CS:GO Maps Workshop reduces fragmentation of custom maps around the internet and acts as a one-stop location for browsing and downloading the latest custom maps for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, bringing together users who make maps […]
Square Enix has uploaded a new episode for the ‘Guide to Survival’ video series to introduce important gameplay elements for the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. Similar to the Assassin’s Creed 3’s Homestead interface, Lara will be able to use fast travel to explored locations from the Basecamp for easier navigation. The ‘gear gating’ system requires players to acquire the suitable tools to unlock inaccessible places and allows players to uncover the island’s mysteries when they return to that same area.
About two weeks ago, the release date for ‘The Infamy’, the first episode of The Tyranny of King Washington DLC, was announced for February 19. All episodes will release a day later for PS3.
Each episode can be purchased separately for the price of $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. The DLC […]

Disney posted its earnings today and its video games division brought in $291 million in revenue during the holiday quarter ending December 31, 2012 (a 4% increase from the year before). Out of this amount, sub-company Disney Interactive posted $9 million profit, a tremendous improvement over the $28 million loss seen in the same period for 2011. Games released during the holiday season include Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Wreck-it Ralph the iOS game and Toy Story Mania.
L.A Noire has gained universal acclaim and success for its compelling storyline and wowed critics with Depth Analysis’s MotionScan, a realistic facial animation technology developed for film and video game industries. This latest footage is exactly how a TV show gag reel looks like except L.A Noire is a video game, not a TV show. Not a single wrinkle or line on the character faces is unnoticeable and the resemblance between actors and in-game characters is terribly uncanny.
And there […]
During the E3 2012 gameplay preview, we got to see Joel and Ellie take on a gang of human enemies as well as explore a bit of the scenic ruins of the city. Now Naughty Dog has released a fresh batch of screenshots, showing off the two protagonists with the recently-introduced black market smuggler Tess in a rainy setting and (mostly Joel) in combat with infected.
Tess and Joel start out in a place called ‘The Outskirts’ in Boston […]
It looks like we won’t be seeing as many Resident Evil games as often from now on and a shift back to the horror genre when we do see the next Resident Evil come out. Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata has acknowledged that there have been too many games coming out under the Resident Evil umbrella in the past two years and, as a result, future releases might be spread out over a longer time between games. He mentions […]
A new Sherlock Holmes game, titled Crimes & Punishments, has just been announced by Focus Home Interactive this weekend. The new game will be different from previous Sherlock Holmes titles in the gameplay and graphics departments. The game will adopt better animations and environments by using Epic’s tried-and-tested Unreal Engine 3. Players will be faced with the newly-introduced moral choices, instead of ‘going by the book’, which will affect in-game events.
Sherlock Holmes: Crime & Punishments is in development for PC, […]
