Layoffs happening at IGN; 1UP, GameSpy and UGO to close down

Word is the video game editorial landscape is changing and just shortly after the Ziff Davis group acquired IGN and its network of websites, there’s reports of consolidation going on and it’s not good for jobs. An unspecified number of IGN employees were laid off yesterday and an internal memo from Ziff Davis CEO Vivek Shah posted on the internet indicates the “winding down” and eventual closure of entertainment websites GameSpy, 1UP and UGO.

Jimmy Fallon got an actual hands-on demo of newly-annnounced Killzone: Shadow Fall on his talk show Late Night on Jimmy Fallon. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer free-to-play weekend starts now, full game on sale

This weekend, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer can be played for free on Steam until Sunday 1pm PST. Crystal Dynamics has released specifics on the PC system requirements needed to run Tomb Raider. The game will be able to run on low end PCs, as well as powerful computers. Irrational Games has announced the BioShock Infinite Season Pass which will include three additional DLC content featuring new characters, abilities, weapons, stories and locations in Columbia. Blizzard Entertainment appeared at the Sony press conference to confirm that the company is developing RPG Diablo 3 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 after making PC-exclusive games throughout the years. More details are said to be revealed in the coming months. The game will feature new updates for Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more. AMD confirms PlayStation 4 runs custom APU developed with Sony

After we made an educated guess on the PlayStation 4 using AMD hardware yesterday, it seems we got half of that equation right. AMD themselves confirmed this morning that the PlayStation 4 will indeed use their APU hardware.

During the Sony’s press conference in New York, Ubisoft confirmed that their upcoming thriller game Watch Dogs will be available for PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
