Bungie and Activision unveiled their latest first-person shooter title Destiny which will be set in massive open-world at Bungie’s studio in Bellevue, Washington. Congratulations, Irrational Games! Ken Levine has confirmed that BioShock Infinite has gone gold via the Irrational Games blog.
Levine wrote, “I’m happy to announce that the game has gone gold. During an interview with Polygon, Irrational Games user experience specialist Bill Gardner stated that he wanted BioShock Infinite to be set in the Renaissance era when he was the lead designer working on the game development. Valve officially brought Steam for Linux out of beta on Valentine’s Day and Steam is now ready to be embraced by the gamers on the open-source operating system. Available via the Ubuntu Software Center or directly on the Steam website, Steam for Linux offers just about the same functionality that Windows and Mac users have, including Big Picture mode that lets you play on televisions using an enlarged, game controller friendly user interface.

Bungie confirms Destiny, slated for reveal on February 17

From the creators of the Halo franchise, Destiny is rumored to be a science-fiction alternate reality game (ARG). Previous screenshots show what looks like a large white snowball hovering over Earth, ruined buildings, moss-covered areas and very snowy environment. There are also some characters suited up in metal armor, gripping chunky hi-tech weapons. I’m not sure what this could mean for the game’s plot, but certain concepts could possibly be taken from Halo games.
