Sega to bring out Castle of Illusion HD remake with Mickey Mouse this summer

A total remake of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse has just been confirmed by Sega and Disney Interactive today. The remake of Castle of Illusion, a 2D side-scrolling game originally released in 1990 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, is being developed by Sega Studios Australia and will feature ‘reimagined’ graphics in high-definition that mixes both 2D and 3D artworks. The original 1990 game saw the journey of Mickey Mouse battling his way through the Castle of Illusion to rescue Minnie Mouse from the witch Mizrabel; this HD remake will likely sport the same plot.

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse will be released ‘this summer 2013’ on Steam for Windows PC and as a downloadable title on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Sony has posted a video trailer of Castle of Illusion for PS3:
