Announced earlier this month as a reboot of the series, Thief is set to be released in 2014 for PC, PlayStation 4 and other next-generation consoles (2013 Xbox perhaps?). The folks at Eidos Montreal have written a blog post where they spoke with Nicolas Cantin, Game Director of Thief, about the direction of the game.
Cantin mentions that they’re designing Garrett, the main character in the Thief reboot, so that he isn’t too gothic-looking (black nails and all) but not too mainstream either. The first-person game will follow the roots of previous games and focus on the stealth element. This means that the game will allow you to finish its storyline without having to kill anyone because “Garrett is a Master Thief, not a killing machine”.
