The new trailer, titled False Shepherd, puts the spotlight on a little background of protagonist Booker DeWitt. Booker was a gambler who lost a lot, and now has to repay his debt by going to Columbia and getting them the girl, Elizabeth. The trailer shows Booker getting in a scuffle with an officer of the Columbia Police Department (who wields a spinning pinwheel of death), which ends with the blood as Booker steers it towards another his aggressor’s colleague. Booker is also seen shooting, smashing and strangling various foes throughout the trailer.
We also get brief views of the Heavy Hitter and Fireman, two huge enemies which were teased by Irrational Games earlier this week. We speculate these two might be mini-bosses in BioShock Infinite. Booker is later seen consuming an elixir which burns his skin unpleasantly but seemingly grants him the ability to shoot fiery flameballs at enemies.
After the trailer concentrates on Booker and his fights for most of the time, Elizabeth later makes an appearance and is shown using her ability to create Tears into other dimensions and throwing Booker a weapon as the Heavy Hitter charges at him. Apparently Elizabeth can fight too as she delivers a punch and a kick to a fellow who tries to re-capture her, showing once again she isn’t just a pretty face in the game.
BioShock Infinite comes out for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 26. There’s still the opportunity to pre-order the game and get $30 in games credit from Amazon.
Warning: Some pretty animated gory violence in the trailer below.
