During the Sony’s press conference in New York, Ubisoft confirmed that their upcoming thriller game Watch Dogs will be available for PlayStation 4 and Wii U. The game will run on AnvilNext, the latest game engine created by Ubisoft Montreal. CEO Yves Guillemot said, “we are creating games that can be played anytime anywhere across many different devices.”
On an incredibly related note, have you ever watched Person of Interest? Because the gameplay and story concept is uncannily similar. Even the opening scene of the trailer premiered at the presentation looks the same.
The game follows antihero Aiden Pearce uses his hacking skills as a weapon to counterattack those who mean harm to him as he goes a mission to catch criminals and save people in the alternate reality of Chicago, Illinois. A supercomputer dubbed ‘CtOS’ (Central Operating System) controls anything related to technology and holds detailed profiles about the citizens, making it an easy task for Aiden to retrieve information he needs.
Watch Dogs is definitely one of the fresh new titles to watch. In addition to the PlayStation 4 and Wii U, the game will also be released on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and possibly Xbox 720 some time in Q4 2013.
