It isn’t everyday that you see games whose creation was directly funded by gamers, but post-apocalyptic role-playing game Wasteland 2 is one of them. This upcoming sequel to the original Wasteland released in 1988 raised $2.9 million in funding via Kickstarter last year. After spending the past year in development, inXile and Obsidian Entertainment have just published a 17 minute long gameplay.
inXile Entertainment mentions in a ‘thank you’ note on their Kickstarter page that they are ‘just past the halfway mark’, so things like sound and some effects are missing from the gameplay video and the user interface may change in the future.
Wasteland 2 is scheduled for a release in October 2013 for Windows, Mac and Linux PC’s. Anyone who previously backed the creation of Wasteland 2 with $75 or more on Kickstarter will get access to an early beta that’s playable on Steam before the actual release of the game.
