A new title in the Batman Arkham franchise is coming in the 2013 financial year – that’s one of the things that Time Warner inevitably confirmed when they made their earnings announcement last week. Warner Bros. Interactive have had success with the previous two action-puzzle solver Batman video games, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, so it’s only expected that they come up with another addition to the series. Their parent company, Time Warner, expects to ‘post another very strong year in 2013’, with performance for this financial year to be ‘as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012’.
The next Batman Arkham game will likely be a prequel and focus on how Batman met the Joker, according to earlier reports on the internet. Unofficial reports also mention that Rocksteady, who made Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, may not return for a third time. That, and the developer behind this next game, has yet to receive official confirmation.
