Black Tusk Studios is a fairly new venture that was officiated by Microsoft in Vancouver last November. Talking with the Vancouver Sun shortly after Black Tusk Studios was formed last year, studio manager Mike Crump mentioned they were “working on Microsoft’s next big entertainment franchise” that would hopefully become “the next Halo”. Turns out Black Tusk Studios might not be working on one, but four new franchises. The LinkedIn profile of the company’s senior product manager/product planner Jonathan Browne lists that he has “been the primary product manager on four unannounced new IP and have been a key contributor to bringing these IP from the very early concept phase through green light to production”.
It may not be too surprising considering Black Tusk Studios had plans to double its team of 55 employees this year, and we’re excited what Microsoft in Vancouver has to bring to the table.
