Plantronics GameCom 780 gaming headset drops to lowest price yet

Remember those limited edition GameCom 780 headsets made by Plantronics when they partnered with Valve? Well, I know many folks are big fans of Valve (who isn’t?) but if you’re willing to forego the Portal, TF2, CS:GO or Dota 2 decal on the headband, then there’s good news for you. The plain, stock version of the Plantronics GameCom 780 has just dropped in price to $48. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen yet for this gaming headset that was launched this year (and quite a bit cheaper than the $55 to $60 price that they usually go for). For under 50 bucks, this gaming headset nets you a pair of 40 mm sound drivers, virtual 7.1 Dolby surround sound, a swing-up microphone stub with noise cancellation and earcup controls for volume and mute toggle. Build quality is solid for the price, though for the purpose of creating a surround sound environment, the headset uses USB for connectivity (instead of a conventional 3.5 mm headphone jack). If you’re looking for a nice headset to start with for PC gaming, check out the GameCom 780 gaming headset at its $48 price now before it goes back up.
