DICE job listing expresses EA’s intention to bring Frostbite Engine to Mac

It appears that EA is serious about expanding their games to Mac territory. Not long after EA’s Origin came out in alpha for Mac, a job listing on DICE’s website looking for a ‘Mac OS X Engineer’ reveals that EA intends to bring Frostbite Engine over to OS X. The team is looking for an addition to help them “deliver an engine as great on OS X as it is on Windows and traditional console platforms”.

Frostbite Engine has powered many EA games over the years, and was recently updated in 2011 to the next-generation Frostbite 2. Frostbite 2 is the engine behind most recent games such as Battlefield 3, Need for Speed: The Run and Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

Having announced plans in the past to have Frostbite power more games, including the next Mass Effect, next Need for Speed, Command & Conquer and more, it’s no wonder EA is setting its sights to expand Frostbite’s reach to more platforms. This might also mean EA giving additional attention to the PC platform, which can only benefit gamers.
