So much for a 2012 release, huh? Looks like fans of the Metal Gear Solid series (As well as Xbox and PC gamers who have long been waiting) can finally rejoice as the release date of Metal Gear Solid: Rising has been confirmed to be on November 1, 2011! Yup that’s two weeks before the other third-person perspective stealth-action game, Assassin’s Creed Revelations… and a week before everyone’s favorite (or not) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out.
Better start saving them pennies, because Amazon, who confirmed the release date of Metal Gear Solid: Rising with pre-order pages for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, is also demanding a price of $60 (in line with the price of other video games when they’re newly released).
Strangely enough, the PC version of Metal Gear Rising is nowhere to be found… though it is expected that a PC version will be made available. Let’s just hope Konami won’t pull off “an Ubisoft trick” by releasing the PC version several months down the road when the game is aged and slightly stale, like Ubisoft does noticeably on an annual basis with games from their Assassin’s Creed franchise.
