This is just in, PC Games Hardware DE, a German website dedicated to PC gaming and hardware, has just posted a video from the Innovation Forum at Computex 2011. The video shows one of Nvidia’s top level representatives showing off Crysis 2 running DirectX 11 features. Improved graphical details from tessellation, smoother motion blur and more realistic object focusing via better shallow depth-of-field and bokeh effects are among the things that DirectX 11 will bring to an already-stunning looking game that is Crysis 2.
The last the internet heard from Crytek about a DX11 patch for Crysis 2 was way back in late March/early April, shortly after the launch of the game itself. This demo proves that a little over two months later, things are finally in place and said patch should become available ‘very soon’. We have confirmed with one of our own reliable contacts that PC gamers can look forward to playing Crysis 2 with DirectX 11 officially implemented next month… well, provided you have the right graphics card of course.
